Nazife Onaral has defended her MSc. thesis titled “Exploring the Effects of Tree Roots on Infiltration Process”. In her thesis research, Nazife worked on high resolution detection of the infiltration process in 4D by performing several infiltration experiments and imaging the root balls using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) methods of geophysics. She employed these well known methods following a very novel methodology to capture as high resolution 4D images of the water movement through the root ball. NSG Lab. members Chanho Park and Trenton Cerny helped her with fieldwork during many long days and nights.
In May 2022, we saw Nazife off for her new position at UT Delft as a PhD. student.
